The Western Governors’ Association has initiated the ‘Celebrate the West Arts Competition’ to encourage young visual artists to create art inspired by their respective states’ unique culture and landmarks.

The Museum of Contemporary Art grants Failure Fair Scholarships to young students of Colorado who have an aptitude for creativity, risk-taking, and innovation. Students are invited to submit a painting, sculpture, dance, or theatrical production accompanied by a 500-word description. Six finalists are invited to present their projects to the Committee. The top three are awarded a scholarship distributed over 4 years of studies. The Rocky Mountain Coal Mining Institute helps interested candidates progress in the field of coal mining by providing them with scholarships to cover for their advanced degree studies.
